I'm Miles Gorman, A.K.A. The Strike Bike. I'm an LGBTQ+ kid who loves reading, so book bans and literary censorship hit especially close to home. I've been doing LGBTQ+ rights and climate change activism since I was 12, and the windfall of laws targeting classrooms and libraries alarmed me. Reading about events like the Florida Book Bans in 2022 and 2023, I felt like I had to do something. One day in math class I scribbled an idea on the corner of a worksheet just before lunch. When I got home, I put my programming skills to work, and The Banned Books Library was born.
